So my friend was fostering these precious little kitties which can be seen in one of my deviations. I told her that I would have loved to adopt one if I could, but I didn't think my mom would want us to, what with us already having a (very aggressive) cat, but she said that I can have him as my Christmas gift!

I AM SO EXCITED~~~~~~~~~~~

Sugar Cane is so badass.

Clay + Cold = Excellent

So I've discovered in my time avoiding homework that clay work is definitely going to be a winter/autumn thing for me. It puts my cold hands into good use because the clay doesn't get too soft and mushy if your hands are cold when you're handling it. It makes slicing canes a whole lot easier.

I also discovered that the reason my canes slice kind of smushed and weird is because I've been using Sculpey Ultra Light, which doesn't hold shape as well. Oh well. Too late now. I like working with it more than working with regular Sculpey. It's got a smoother texture to it.

And, and, if you work on Sculpey while you're hands are really cold, sometimes you can handle the clay right out of the oven and no burns! No pain either. Just warmth.
Relaxing warmth.

Of course, I noticed all these things because I was playing with clay while I should've been doing homework, but all of my grapefruit cakes are now fully baked and ready to be worn! As well as some other items that I had not been taking progress photos for. Among those are:

Banana cream pie
Sweet potato pie
Berry pie (cherry maybe? I dunno really.)
Hand wings
Cherry pair rings (in red and white)
Just plain pie
Lemon pie
Jelly rolls

The Jelly rolls are actually re~ally old, but I never got around to finishing them. Now that I got some new silicon II though, I should be able to ice them along with some other things that need dollops of whipped cream and once I do, they'll be posted up here as well.

Speaking of which! I have a story about silicon II. You'll notice I said I got a new tube. That was because I bought my first one and when I opened it and squeezed, nothing came out. I investigated with a skewer, with which I stabbed it. The stuff that came out was not the smooth cream I had been hoping for, but instead, a glop of something with a texture between ricotta cheese and old icing that someone had put through a blender.

And it smelled.

So I returned it and got a new tube. Hopefully this one turns out ok.

Otherwise I'll be sad.

I haven't posted in a while but I thought I should replace that journal about the cruise.

I'm tired and I have a headache.

And I hate physics.

And Spanish.

Everything else is kind of chill though.

My mom took me failing a test a lot better than I thought she would.

I think it's because she's afraid she's going to die soon.

On another note, I made too much light yellow sculpey and now I'm running low on white. Look forward to some more cakes and cute.

I was in Alaska. On a cruise. And it was hella cool.

I was actually kind of dreading it since I was afraid I'd spend the entire time watching my family be awkward together, but actually, it was a lot of fun. There was this teen club thing that I thought would be totally lame, but it was actually hella fun. We spent most of the time just hanging out and stuff. Met some cool people and exchanged emails. Also met a super tall fourteen year old that made me sad. But not really, because he was really cool. We had formal nights and he and another guy where in tuxes and it was just wa~y too cute. Like, fucking adorable.

Except for the part where we were hanging out and my family saw us and bought us drinks. And proceeded to call him my boyfriend the rest of the trip. And tease me repeatedly. Often when he was not too far off. And then my mother kept saying hi and being awkward. It was really not cool.

But that aside, it was actually hella awesome. We played some stupid games and had a pajama party and karaoke nights and stuff. And by the way, have I said that I fucking love karaoke? Especially when the guys are too sexy for their shirts. And of course, they made it clear that they were no strangers to love and they were going to make a wish, take a chance, make a change, and break away. Oh, and Chris (super tall guy) and Tom (other tall-but-not-as-tall-as-Chris-but-totally-chill-guy) were stayin' alive.
Ah ah ah ah.
Stayin' al~~~~~~ive.

And I got it on camera. XD

Also, there was Robert. He was also hella cool. He spent the entire time talking in this great Chinese accent. I only heard his real voice twice I think. Now I can't remember what it sounded like. But he was reary cool. Reary.

And Jessica was just all around awesome. Except that her cousin got swine flu and I ended up getting a cold which may or may not have been a result of him.

And there was Hanna. Her name made me think of Hana. And she said hella ancd hecka hella much. Actually, everyone did because they were all Cali kids. Half way though, I found myself saying it too. I promise I wont use it as often as I did in this journal in real life though. I just felt like saying hella for this.

Hella.
